The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) successfully hosted the 13th International Conference 2025, themed "Raising Children in Our Time," at Terichmir View Hotel Chitral on October 16, 2025. Professor Dr. Hazir Ullah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
In his address, Professor Dr. Ullah emphasized the need for collective responsibility among all stakeholders to tackle the challenges posed by the fast-developing digital age. He highlighted the sociological and educational aspects of contemporary challenges in child-rearing, stressing the importance of a collaborative approach.
The conference featured three concurrent academic sessions, where eight research papers were presented. A panel discussion titled "The Impact of Excessive Screen Time on Children's Health" was also part of the conference, featuring experts including Dr. Tajuddin Sharar, Provost University of Chitral, and Dr. Sana Ullah, HOD Sociology department University of Chitral. Mr. Zahoor ul Danish, lecturer in English University of Chitral, also participated in the conference as Session Chair for two academic sessions.
The University of Chitral's participation in the conference underscores its commitment to contributing to discussions on critical issues in education and child development.
