The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) representative visited the University of Chitral as part of the national literacy campaign “Each One Teach One.” During their visit, the NCHD representative held a productive meeting with the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah, in his office to discuss collaboration strategies for the campaign.
The meeting focused on mobilizing university students as key volunteers in the nationwide effort to eradicate illiteracy, particularly in remote and underserved areas. The University of Chitral has pledged its full support to the campaign and is committed to preparing its students to take an active role in the initiative.
Under this collaboration, university students will engage with local communities, particularly in the far-flung regions of Chitral, to identify and educate out-of-school children as well as illiterate adults. This grassroots approach aims to bring meaningful educational opportunities to those who have been left behind.
To coordinate the initiative effectively, Dr. Sanaullah, Head of the Department of Sociology, and Dr. Attiq Tariq, Head of the Department of Education have been appointed as the focal persons for the project on behalf of the University of Chitral.
