On 24th April,2025, a
significant milestone was marked at the University of Chitral as the Helping
Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), in collaboration with the Youth
Empowerment Club (YEC), successfully inaugurated a state-of-the-art water
filtration plant to ensure access to clean and safe drinking water for
students, faculty, and staff.
The inauguration ceremony commenced
at 3:00 PM and was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Amjad Mahmood, a
leading representative of HHRD, who formally inaugurated the water filtration
system. The event saw active participation from the Vice Chancellor of the
University of Chitral, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and
administrative stakeholders, highlighting the collective commitment toward
sustainable development and student welfare.
Following the inauguration, a highly
informative session was held to commemorate World Water Day, centered around
the theme of water conservation and accessibility. Students from various
departments attended the session with keen interest. In his address, Mr. Amjad
Mahmood shared crucial global water statistics, shedding light on the pressing
issues of water scarcity and pollution. He emphasized the importance of youth
involvement in addressing these challenges and urged the audience to adopt
sustainable water practices in their daily lives.
His speech was not only enlightening
but also deeply thought-provoking, instilling a sense of responsibility among
the attendees. The interactive session also provided a platform for students to
engage in discussions and reflect on their role in promoting environmental
sustainability.
The event concluded with a note of
