The University of Chitral marked the successful conclusion of its annual Sports Gala 2025 with a grand prize distribution ceremony held at the university’s main hall.
The event was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah, who presented trophies and shields to winning departmental teams and outstanding individual performers.
In his keynote address, Dr. Hazir Ullah highlighted the importance of sports in the holistic development of students. He stated, “The annual Sports Gala is an essential component of our academic and co-curricular calendar. It instills discipline, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility among our youth while promoting physical and mental well-being.”
The Vice-Chancellor also announced the university’s plans to upgrade sports facilities in the new campus, assuring students of improved infrastructure for athletic training and competitions. He extended special appreciation to the Incharge of the Sports Section and the team of student volunteers, whose dedication and tireless efforts were instrumental in making the event a grand success.
The ceremony was well-attended by Heads of Departments, faculty members, administrative staff, and a large gathering of students.
The Sports Gala featured active participation from both male and female students in a variety of events including cricket, football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, and tug-of-war. The competitions were marked by enthusiastic involvement and impressive displays of skill and sportsmanship.
