The University of Chitral hosted a crucial awareness session on safe migration practices today, organized by the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) Pakistan. The session was chaired by Dr. Tajuddin Sharar, Provost of the University. The event drew a significant number of students from various departments, all eager to learn about the complexities of migration and its implications.
In a detailed presentation, Mr. Abul Hameed, MRC Counsellor Peshawar, shed light on the importance of understanding legal pathways for migration, avoiding irregular practices, and identifying verified recruitment agencies to prevent fraud. He also provided guidance on exploring education options outside Pakistan and highlighted the risks associated with unscrupulous recruitment agencies.
The session was moderated by Ms. Sawera Hussain and Ms. Marwa Kali, students of BS English, who ensured a smooth and engaging discussion. In his welcome note, Zahoor ul Haq Danish, focal person for the event and Chief Proctor of the University, emphasized the significance of the session in empowering students with essential knowledge.
Dr. Saif ul Mujahid, HOD Economics Department, delivered the vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of MRC Pakistan in promoting safe migration practices. Dr. Tajuddin Sharar, Provost of the University, Chair of the session, delivered a concluding address, highlighting the University's commitment to supporting students in making informed decisions about their future.
