The University of Chitral, in
collaboration with the Blended and Digital Learning (BDL) team of the Aga Khan
University (AKU) Karachi, today launched a three-day intensive workshop
titled "Enhancing Digital Teaching Skills." The
event, coordinated with the University of Chitral's Quality Enhancement Cell
(QEC), saw enthusiastic participation from 22 faculty members across various
departments.
The workshop is designed to empower
educators with advanced digital tools and pedagogical strategies to foster a
more dynamic and student-centered learning environment. The focus is on moving
beyond traditional lecture methods to create interactive and engaging classroom
experiences.
The inaugural day made a productive
tone, with faculty members actively engaging in hands-on sessions. The training
curriculum is centered on integrating effective digital tools directly into
teaching practice. Participants are learning to design interactive learning
experiences using popular platforms such as Google Classroom,
PowerPoint, Padlet, and Slido.
A representative from the BDL team
stated, "Our goal is to equip educators with practical skills that they
can immediately apply. Today's session was about building a foundation in
creating student-focused digital content, and the engagement from the
University of Chitral faculty has been outstanding. We look forward to building
on this momentum over the next two days."
The workshop underscores the
university's commitment to academic excellence and innovation in teaching. By
enhancing the digital fluency of its faculty, the University of Chitral aims to
enrich the overall learning experience for its students, ensuring they are
prepared for a digitally driven world.
