Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) /GYM Club University of Chitral organized a Training Session entitled “Crop Management” on December 13, 2023, at the main Hall of the University of Chitral. The session's goals were to promote an integrated approach to crop production management and offer a framework for comprehending the idea of crop management and acquiring the necessary management skills.
The Honorable Vice Chancellor, of the University of Chitral, Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah highly appreciated the efforts of Dr. Muhammad Romman and his team and encouraged them to arrange such type activities for the practical learning of the students. His Excellency is dedicated to enhancing the position of the University of Chitral in research around the world.
In his speech to the students, Dr. Muhammad Romman, Additional Director ORIC, University of Chitral, emphasized the importance of the GYM Club Project. He also praised the funding and assistance of the initiative from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad.
Dr. Ishfaq Hameed (Convener Oversight Committee (OC)/HoD Botany), University of Chitral, and Dr. Syed Fahad Ali Shah (Member Oversight Committee (OC/HoD Economics), University of Chitral) were the organizers of the event. More than 15 faculty members and 153 students of the University of Chitral attended the occasion.
Dr. Muhammad Naseer (Senior Research Officer, Agriculture Research Station, Chitral) addressed the students and discussed the current food scarcity that exists in many parts of Pakistan, the need for more food, crop loss, and other problems with agricultural output and informed them that there is a growing need for solutions that could help with crop management.
Dr. Muhammad Abdul Rauf (Director, of Agriculture Research Station, Chitral) was the Resource person. The training concluded with a healthy question-and-answer session with students and faculty members.
