Mr. Saif Ullah,
Faculy member department of zoology & his research students of BS program
including Maryam Bibi, Anila Parveen and Mahliqa Dinar have published
research paper in the recent issue of 'Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal' of
the World Health Organization. Bashalini (menstruating home in Kalash valleys)
has been assumed by some anthropologists (e.g., Siiger, 1956; Graziosi, 1961)
as a site of primitive restriction, confinement, or exile for Kalash women
during menstruation. This study provides evidence that it functions as a
female-managed institution that alleviate stress across physical,
psychological, and social dimensions—aligning with the WHO’s recognition of
menstrual health as a human right—while also promoting safer hygiene practices.
