The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) and the Department of Tourism & Hotel Management, University of Chitral, have formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote tourism and enhance youth engagement in the province’s growing tourism sector.
The MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor, University of Chitral, Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah, and the Director General KPCTA, Mr. Habib Ullah. The Head of the Department of Tourism & Hotel Management, Mr. Sareer Ahmad, and KPCTA’s Director General Projects & Events, Mr. Muhammad Ali, were also present at the occasion.
Under this partnership, KPCTA and the University of Chitral will collaborate to promote tourism, culture, and heritage across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The agreement includes organizing joint activities, conducting specialized training sessions for students—such as tour-guide training—offering internship opportunities, and developing initiatives aimed at preparing youth for careers in the tourism and hospitality industry.
During the ceremony, speakers highlighted that the collaboration will pave the way for designing targeted training courses, workshops, and capacity-building programs in the future. These efforts are expected to significantly boost tourism development in Chitral.
