Dr. Mujahid Khan, Program Manager, Association
for Biorisk Management (ABM) Pakistan, visited Department of Zoology,
University of Chitral on October 09, 2024.
ABM Pakistan is a collaborative partner of the
Department of Zoology, University of Chitral and provides training and
refresher courses to the staff and students on bio-risk management and
biosafety. ABM has also provided much needed essential laboratory resources
including security system, solar energy system, and other laboratory equipment,
significantly strengthening the departmentβs laboratory.
During his visit, Dr. Mujahid visited the
laboratory and interacted with the lab staff and faculty members. He expressed
his overall satisfaction with the conditions and maintenance of the laboratory.
Some improvements were suggested, and further needs were also identified. Mr.
Shah Fahad Ali Khan, University Focal Person for ABM, briefed the guest about
the existing set up and plans for enhancing the laboratory.Β
Later, Dr. Mujahid Khan also delivered a
lecture to the students of zoology on good laboratory work practices and
interacted with the students. HoD Zoology, Mr. Fathul Bari thanked ABM Pakistan
and Dr. Mujahid Khan for their continued cooperation and support in providing
necessary training and equipment to enhance the laboratory facilities at the
department of Zoology, University of Chitral.Β
