Chitral – In line with the directives of the Higher
Education Commission (HEC) and under the guidance of the esteemed Vice
Chancellor of the University of Chitral, a media literacy session was
successfully organized by the Office of the Public Relations Officer. The
session was attended by administrative staff and faculty members, aiming to
equip participants with essential media literacy skills to counter
misinformation and fake news across social and electronic media.
During the session, participants were introduced to key
strategies for identifying and combating misinformation, enhancing critical
thinking in media consumption, and promoting responsible digital engagement.
Experts highlighted the impact of disinformation on society and emphasized the
importance of verifying sources, fact-checking, and understanding media biases.
The Vice Chancellor of the University encouraged faculty
and staff to integrate these skills into their professional and academic
endeavors, ensuring a more informed society.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, where
attendees shared insights and experiences regarding media challenges in the
