• University of Chitral Hosts Insightful Session on Climate Change and Its Regional Impacts

    The Department of Economics, in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, University of Chitral, organized an online session titled “Pakistan at the Crossroads: The Political and Economic Impacts of Climate Change in the Region” on September 19, 2025 at the Smart Lab.

    The session featured Mr. Muhammad Ismail, a renowned Climate Change Specialist, who delivered an engaging presentation on how climate change is reshaping Pakistan’s socio-economic landscape, focusing on the political, economic, and environmental challenges in the region.

    Faculty members and students from the Departments of Economics and Political Science actively participated in discussions on the implications of climate change for policy-making, economic resilience, and regional cooperation.

    The session was effectively moderated by Mr. Safdar Hussain, Faculty Member, Department of Economics, University of Chitral, who highlighted the urgency of integrated efforts to address climate-related challenges at national and regional levels.

    At the conclusion, Dr. Saif ul Mujahid Shah (HoD Economics), Dr. Sajjad Hussain (HoD Political Science), and Mr. Barashat Hussain extended their vote of thanks to the speaker for his valuable time and for encouraging students’ participation.
