The Young Peace and Development Corps
(YPDC) and Youth Empowerment Club University of Chitral in collaboration with
the District Youth Office organized a book fair themed “Promoting &
Celebrating Local Literature.” The event aimed at highlighting and promoting
the literary heritage of Chitral and creating a culture of book reading.
Different Books by local authors and publishers were on display at the stalls.
The honorable Vice Chancellor University of Chitral, District Youth Officer
Jabbar Ghani, Assistant Commissioner Headquarter Chitral Dr Atif Jalib,
Assistant Commissioner Finance, Javed Iqbal and Fareed Ahmad Raza
representatives of Anjuman-E-Taraqi-E-Khowar and MIER Chitral and other guests
formally opened the event and visited the stalls. The honorable Vice Chancellor
of the university appreciated the organizing students and committed his full
support for such positive activities in the future. All the distinguished
guests interacted with the students and encouraged them to keep the literary
tradition alive and develop a habit of book reading. A large number of students
from the University and nearby colleges attended the event and showed a great
interest in local literature.
