In a landmark event, 114 laptops were
distributed among the students of the University of Chitral under the Prime
Minister's Youth Laptop Scheme. The ceremony, held at the university's main
hall, was graced by distinguished guests, including Chief Guest Dr. Mir Baiz
Khan, Prof at Toronto University, Canada, and Special Guest Sultan Zeb, Deputy
Director of Audit Higher Education, Islamabad. The Project Director of the
University of Chitral Engineer Ziaullah and Abdul Wali Khan Advocate also
attended the program as a special guest.
The program was presided over by Prof. Dr.
Tajudin Sharar the Focal Person of the Prime Minister's Laptop Scheme and the
Provost of the University of Chitral. The program was attended by notable
figures such as Prof. Mumtaz Hussain, Retired Principal of Govt Degree College
Chitral, Mehmood Ghaznavi, District Education Officer Lower Chitral, Tufail
Nawaz, Principal Aga Khan Higher Secondary School Lower Chitral, Engineer
Khadimullah SRSP and Mr Zohran Shah, Ex GM Aga Khan Education Service Chitral.
A diverse audience, comprising students,
administrative staff, and faculty members, participated in the laptop
distribution ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Mir
Baiz Khan emphasized the transformative potential of these laptops, stating
they would open new avenues for students in research and online earning. The
Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah, expressed
gratitude to the HEC team for facilitating the distribution through the Prime
Minister Laptop Scheme.
The event marked a significant step towards
empowering students with the tools necessary for academic and professional
growth, aligning with the broader vision of fostering technological advancement
and educational excellence in the region.
