Chitral: On December 6, 2023, the Governor Inspection Team visited the University of Chitral, following the directives of the Honorable Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa / Chancellor Public Sector Universities. The primary objective of the visit was to gain insights into the challenges faced by the Universities and to conduct a thorough inspection of the ongoing civil work. The team, led by Shakeel Asghar, (Senior Member Governor Inspection Team) expressed their commitment to understanding the university's issues and ensuring its optimal solutions.
Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Chitral, delivered a comprehensive presentation highlighting the University's progress and achievements in different spheres at same time entangled by multifarious issues and challenges journey particularly the non-inclusion of the University in the recurring funding stream of HEC due to non-provision of funds by the Federal Government. The team was briefed by Engineer M. Zia Ullah, Project Director of the University of Chitral, regarding the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) project for the establishment of the University of Chitral.
As part of the inspection, the team visited the project site followed by a brief visit to the newly established Youth Development Center, funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC). The Team also visited the Smart Classroom set up within the university premises to showcase the institution's commitment to modern and innovative educational practices.
Despite the challenges faced by the University of Chitral, the Governor Inspection Team expressed satisfaction with the progress made in various areas of academic excellence, research and development. They acknowledged the dedication of the university administration, faculty, and staff in overcoming hurdles and working towards academic progress.
