• Dr. Muhammad Romman, Assistant Professor of Botany at the University of Chitral, has been officially recognized as an IRTC Approved Supervisor

    The Directorate General of Science and Technology in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa proudly announces the recognition of Dr. Muhammad Romman, an Assistant Professor of Botany at the University of Chitral, as an approved supervisor for the Interdisciplinary Research Training Center (IRTC). With an IRTC Number 006-HM-24, Dr. Romman will lead innovative research in Herbs and Medicinal Plants for the next two years, contributing significantly to the advancement of scientific knowledge in this vital area.

    As an IRTC-approved supervisor, he will play a significant role in:

    ·        Guiding the researchers to develop a comprehensive understanding of their research topic.

    ·        Motivate the researchers to conduct thorough research into the identified problem.

    To accomplish these objectives, in accordance with IRTC framework he will be:

    a.     Asked to Supervise the Undergraduate, Master and Postdoc fellows for their research activities.

    b.     Select students with potential to conduct quality research and establish effective working relationships with them (and where applicable Co supervisors).

    c.      Provide academic guidance and act as mentor to the research scholar, including by interacting frequently with the scholar to guide them with respect to their research, comprehensive examinations, publications, timely completion of the dissertations, and their professional path after degree completion.

    d.     Evaluate the performance of the scholar critically as per the national and international standards, instill in the students the importance of originality and creativity, and highlight for the students understanding the perils of academic dishonesty and plagiarism.

    e.     Ensure that the rules and regulations of your university and the relevant policies and regulations of DoST, as communicated from time to time, are compiled with in true letter and spirit.

    f.       Apply for different R&D grants and equipment maintenance programs.

    g.     IRTC supervisors are entitled to an honorarium upon supervision of the research fellows.
