• Cultural & Business Exhibition for Women at the University of Chitral

    Women Empowerment Section of the Youth Development Center, University of Chitral organized a Cultural and Business Exhibition for Women on September 23, 2024. The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Muhammad Sahib Khan, Additional Registrar, University of Chitral, Mrs. Fareeda Sultana Faree Poetess and Social Activist, Dr. Nizam Ud Din, Additional Director Academics, and focal Person YDC, accompanied by accompanied by the focal person from the Women Empowerment Section Mrs. Kausar Hussain, and female faculty members of the university. Β The event was entirely managed and operated by female students, the exhibition featured a variety of stalls showcasing diverse categories, including models, cultural items, cosmetics (both indigenous and contemporary), food, jewelry, and paintings and sketches. The primary objective was to encourage female participation in event organization, management, and leadership roles while providing students with a platform to display their talents beyond conventional academic activities.

    Students from different departments actively participated in the event, demonstrating their skills and creativity. The exhibition was also open to women from outside the university, allowing them to set up their own stalls and the opportunity was availed by many of the known and young female entrepreneurs. Additionally, women from different sectors of society were invited to attend the event. Among notable guests Mrs. Shaista Jabeen Manager Civil Society Program, AKRSP Chitral graced the occasion. She visited the stall, interacted with the young and enthusiastic entrepreneurs commended the students' talents, and shared her remarkable experiences with them.

    At the end of the exhibition, both students and guests expressed their appreciation for the event. Students remarked that the exhibition helped them enhance their creativity and innovation, improve their communication skills, and build their confidence. Through teamwork and collaboration on projects, students developed ethical skills, empathy, cooperation, and an understanding of the importance of respecting diverse perspectives. Furthermore, the event provided a valuable platform for parental involvement and community engagement, which are essential elements of the educational experience.Β
