University of Chitral participated in exposure and
expedition visit for academia and mentors organized by Youth Empowerment
Program, Helping Hand for Relief and Development Pakistan. Mr. Fathul Bari,
Lecturer/HoD Zoology, represented the University of Chitral in the event. An
orientation session for the participants was held in Islamabad where Focal Persons
and mentors of Youth Empowerment Clubs from different universities were briefed
about the program and activities during the visit.
The Youth Empowerment Club, the University of Chitral is
working in collaboration with the youth empowerment program of the HHRD. The
club is committed to making youth dynamic and conscientious members of society
by providing opportunities that help them learn invaluable skills such as
communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, humanitarian
assistance, and much more. Activities of the YEC, University of Chitral were
highly appreciated who won the best club of the year award 2023 and the same is
expected this year too. Other avenues of collaboration were also explored and
discussed during the session including offering merit cum need based
scholarships for university students. The delegates also visited Helping Hand
Institute of Rehabilitation Sciences (HHIRS), Mansehra. The principal of the
Institute briefed the delegates about the different academic programs,
achievements, services and plans of the institute. The event also provided an
opportunity to interact with faculty members from other universities and
discuss matters of mutual interest and collaboration in relevant fields. During
the expedition the participants visited different tourist destinations
including Babusar top, Lake Saiful Mulook and Lulu Sar Lake. The visit provided
an opportunity for networking and professional linkage development between
academia and universities.
