Project Launching
Ceremony with the name “Da Kali Ranra” was held at the University of Chitral.
The project titled “Da Kali Rana” meaning the village light is aimed to counter
violent extremism in society. The project is a devoted effort to counter the drivers
of violent extremism through community empowerment by providing need base
entrepreneur skills to the youth. The project was formally launched through a
ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The program started with the recitation of verses from the
Holy Quran. Mr. Hafiz Ullah Assistant Director QEC, the University of Chitral
welcomed the guests.
The Chief Guest of the program was the Vice Chancellor
University of Chitral, Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah. He appreciated the aims and
objectives of the project and urged the students to play their role in
countering violent extremism in society.
Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral, Mr. Muhammad Ali Khan
also participated in the project launching ceremony as a special guest. He said
that the youth are the potential assets of society and change agents. They
should use their skills for the benefit of society.
Mr. Shadman Zain, Regional Coordinator of Hashoo Foundation
Chitral gave a detailed presentation about the project.
Aftab Ahmed, Area Manager of Akhuwat Foundation Chitral
briefed the participants about the working of the Akhuwat Foundation and the
role of the Akhuwat Foundation in the social cohesion of the society.
Dr. Nizam Uddin, the focal person of the project thanked
the guests for their participation and precious time.
At the end of the program, the Vice Chancellor presented
shields and souvenirs to the guests.
