• Department of Management Sciences Cultivates Entrepreneurs Through Successful Collaboration with AKRSP

    The Department of Management Sciences at the University of Chitral, in collaboration with the Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP), has successfully concluded a four-day boot camp, training, and advisory sessions under the auspices of the START Apna Karobar project. This initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurial spirit and connecting academia with industry expertise.
    The boot camp, led by the esteemed Head of Department, Dr. Mansoor Ullah Baig, served as a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to ideate and apply the Lean Business Model Canvas to their business concepts, thereby developing robust and sustainable business models.
    The four-day event culminated in a pitch session where twenty innovative business ideas were presented to a panel of judges on the final day. Out of these, the top ten business ideas were selected for seed funding, totaling PKR 2,100,000, by the Aga Khan Rural Support Program.
    Expressing gratitude for the collaborative efforts, the Manager of Work and Enterprise at AKRSP commended the Department of Management Sciences for their commitment to nurturing young entrepreneurs through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application. He extended thanks to the University administration and the esteemed Vice Chancellor for their unwavering support throughout the initiative.
    This successful partnership not only underscores the University of Chitral's dedication to academic excellence but also highlights the Department of Management Sciences as a beacon of innovation and industry relevance. By fostering an environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills, the department is playing a pivotal role in shaping the future business leaders of our community.
