The University Of Chitral carried out a plantation drive at its research site located at Syed Abad Chitral. The plantation drive was attended by a large number of students, teachers, and civil society members. More than 4, 000 species of Spanish variety of Olive plants were planted. The soil test of the area was conducted which was found suitable for plantation of the Olive plant. As the land is barren therefore proper arrangements of water tanker were made available on site.
Project Director University Of Chitral Prof. Dr. Badshah Munir Bukhari was present on the occasion. He urged the younger generation to plant more trees so that our future could be saved. He said that clean and green Pakistan should be our mission. If we want to save our future generation from the threat of Global warming we have to plant more and more trees.
Director Administration, Mohammad Hassan urged the students to play their role in making Pakistan green. A next plantation drive will be arranged soon in which 4000 thousand species of Olive plants and 2000 species of other plants will be planted.
