Department of Sociology and Management Sciences, the University of Chitral in collaboration with ACTED Pakistan arranged a seminar with the theme of “Lessons learned from COVID 19 and the way forward”. Guests from different walks of life participated in the seminar and presented their paper on COVID 19. The speakers highlight the importance of domestic research and public health capacity during the COVID 19 pandemic. Governments and their leaders must respect science, understand its value, and act on it in a way that is best for society. Achieving rapid and effective implementation of control measures for COVID-19 requires broad community engagement. Community solidarity has been unprecedented during the COVID-19 outbreak. Control measures that could sacrifice individual freedom, like mandatory mask-wearing in public areas, were a most important tools for countering the pandemic. Mr. Kamran Zeb Project Manager Acted Pakistan highlighted the impact of COVID 19 globally. MR Dr. Abbas Hayat Explained the history of COVID-19, causes, and the contribution of provincial health department in controlling this pandemic. Mr. Zulfiqar Ali from Aga Khan Education Service discussed the Impact of COVID 19 on the Education Sector. Mr. Siraj UL Mulk highlighted how the tourism sector has been negatively affected by COVID 19.Mr. Hayat Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner lower Chitral highlighted the endeavors of District Administration Chitral to tackle the pandemic. The Provost University of Chitral thanked the guests for their participation.
