Objectives
The master program in Economics is a two year academic program, designed to produce professional economists. It offers students an opportunity to study particular areas of economics in greater depth, from both theoretical and an empirical perspective. Besides core courses in economic theory and quantitative methods, the department offers specialization in a variety of fields including international trade and finance, Industrial organization, Monetary, Banking & Finance, Development economics etc. These courses reflect the current state of knowledge and are taught by top ranking professional in the relevant fields.
Eligibility Criteria for MSc Economics
Admissions are made once in a calendar year, i.e., July and the semester starts in September. The criteria for admission is that the candidate holds a (two years) Bachelor’s degree with Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics etc. from a Pakistani Institute recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC), or an equivalent degree from any other HEC recognized Institute, with at least a second division (annual system) or CGPA 2.5/4.0 (semester system) can apply for admission to the Master’s programme.
