Directorate of Research, Innovation & Commercialization, the University of Chitral with the sponsorship of the US-Pakistan University Partnership Grants Program, organized a two-day writing workshop for the faculty members of the University of Chitral and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal, Dir Upper at the Main Hall of the University of Chitral.
The Program started with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran. Dr. Muhammad Romman, Deputy Director of ORIC welcomed the participants. The main objective of the workshop was to enhance knowledge and understanding of mountain ecosystems and their socio-ecological significance. To gain new knowledge and competencies in academic writing, outcome-based education, and integration of emerging subjects in the University curricula.
Prof. Dr. Zahir Shah, the Vice Chancellor, University of Chitral said that the International community is leading toward integration. Universities cannot work in isolation, therefore cooperation and integration between Universities are the need of the hour.
Eng. Prof. Attaullah Shah, the Vice Chancellor, of Karakoram International University Gilgit explained the objectives of the workshop. He stressed collaboration between universities in this region with a focus on the exchange of students and faculty members.
Dr. Syed Abdul Khaliq, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University said that the Universities in the Mountain region share some common problems and those problems could be solved through collaboration and integration.
The Project Lead from Karakoram International University was Dr. Muhammad Zafar Khan and his teams including Prof. Dr. Tasawar, Associate Dean, and Dr. Sajjad, Director Academics were the trainers. Dr. Zul Kamal was the project lead from Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University Sheringal, Dir Upper.
The participants appreciated the efforts of the organizers of the ORIC, University of Chitral.
